Pamella A. Hopper Senior Counsel

Pamella provides counsel to corporate policyholders in a variety of insurance first and third party coverage-related disputes and litigation, including environmental, global warming, construction, business interruption, and directors and officers. Her previous experience includes working for numerous years as an insurance coverage lawyer and adjuster on behalf of the insurance industry.

While in law school, Pamella was a member of the national championship team at the American Bar Association National Moot Court Competition in 1995, and a member of the Order of the Lytae.

Pamella has published numerous articles and is a frequent lecturer on insurance law. She is a member of the editorial board of the Insurance Litigation Reporter.

Representation of oil company seeking coverage from its liability insurers for numerous MTBE-related product liability claims. Coverage suit pending in Harris County, Texas.

Representation of post-bankruptcy trust seeking coverage from its liability insurers for asbestos-and silica-related liabilities. Settled after obtaining favorable rulings on trigger of coverage, fortuity, and exhaustion.

Representation of major mechanical, electrical and plumbing services provider in numerous construction defect coverage matters, obtaining coverage both as named insured under contractor’s general liability policies, and as an additional insured under subcontractor’s policies.

Representation of electric cooperative in coverage dispute arising from pipeline explosion, successfully obtaining defense under multiple contractor and subcontractor policies as additional insured.

Representation of energy company seeking coverage from its property insurers for damage resulting from Hurricane Ike. Settled before trial.

Representation of retailer in first-party property damage claim resulting from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, resulting in recovery for property damage, extra expense and business interruption claims.
