Amy’s practice focuses on white collar defense and government investigations. Amy has represented major corporations in criminal and civil investigations by US regulatory authorities, including the Department of Justice Antitrust Division, Securities and Exchange Commission, and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, among others. She has also represented corporations in multi-jurisdictional investigations into antitrust violations, tax evasion and money laundering.
Amy also has an active pro bono practice. She has represented individuals pro bono in civil and criminal trials in the Eastern District of Virginia and DC Superior Court. She has also represented a nonprofit organization in an employment dispute before the DC Office of Human Rights.
Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Amy was a senior associate at a prominent law firm in Washington, D.C.
At the University of Virginia law school, Amy was an active participant in the Mid-Atlantic Innocence Project, and led the investigation of several innocence claims.
Amy also previously worked as an associate general counsel of CARE USA, where she advised CARE international offices on United States regulatory issues, including OFAC and FCPA regulations. Before pursuing a legal career, she worked as a project assistant at a law firm in Atlanta, where she assisted with complex civil litigation matters.
