Lai is a vice president in the federal public affairs group at McGuireWoods Consulting where she assists clients on a wide range of policy issues, including financial services, tax policy, energy, foreign affairs, and immigration. Lai monitors various legislative and regulatory developments for the federal group, providing timely analysis and insights to clients. She serves as the chief writer and editor for several policy newsletters at the firm, managing the design and content of the most read policy update and blog at McGuireWoods Consulting.

With her 10 years of combined experience in public service and the private sector, Lai has developed a strong knowledge of the federal legislative and regulatory process, which has been critical in her day-to-day work with clients as she helps to advance their short-term and long-term priorities.

Prior to joining the firm, Lai worked on Capitol Hill for former Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucus (D-MT). Lai graduated with honors from the University of Georgia with a degree in international affairs and a minor in religion. She was also a Sie Fellow at the University of Denver where she received a M.A. in international security.
