Jessi practices in the areas of government investigations and white collar and commercial litigation.

She regularly represents corporate and individual clients in government and internal audits and investigations both in the United States and around the world. Her experience includes defending clients in investigations and enforcement actions by the Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, the Department of the Treasury, the Federal Election Commission and various state agencies.

As an experienced litigator, Jessi has first- and second-chaired bench and jury trials and has written and argued a variety of motions and appeals in state and federal courts. She has worked on multiple class actions and regularly manages substantial e-discovery projects. In addition, Jessi has experience helping clients navigate EU data privacy laws regulating cross-border transfers of data.

Jessi has spoken on a range of topics, including most recently: managing cyber risks, preparing for and preventing data breach, and navigating investigations under Section 10A of the Securities and Exchange Act. She also previously led McGuireWoods’ data privacy blog Password Protected, which provides timely updates on news and trends in the data privacy and security arena.

Jessi is in the McGuireWoods Washington, D.C. office and serves as its pro bono co-partner, and co-chair of the Women's Legal Network.
