Jocelyn focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation representing businesses in a variety of industries. Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Jocelyn clerked for the Honorable Barbara A. Jackson at the North Carolina Supreme Court.
After graduating from the U.S. Air Force Academy, Jocelyn served on active duty in the Air Force for ten years. She served as a diversity recruiter in the USAFA Admissions Office and an intelligence officer. After law school, she served as a prosecutor and general practice attorney in the Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps. As a JAG, she also served as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of North Carolina. Jocelyn tried seven criminal cases and conducted more than ten administrative hearings as a prosecutor.
In law school, Jocelyn was the president of the Broun National Trial Team and externed at the Wake County Public Defender’s Office and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of North Carolina.
An active member in her community, Jocelyn currently serves as the president of the Capital City Lawyers Association and the second vice president of the North Carolina Association of Black Lawyers. She also serves as a council member on the North Carolina Bar Association’s Military and Veterans Law Section and recently was named to RecruitMilitary’s Top 40 Under 40 List.
