Mindy McGrath provides regulatory, business and litigation services to clients in regulated infrastructure service industries including electric, natural gas, water and sewer utilities, hydroelectric facilities and telecommunication companies. In addition to handling administrative litigation before multiple state public service commissions and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), Mindy provides general business advice, compliance assistance and training, and other related legal services for energy clients.

Before FERC, Mindy assists clients with natural gas operations in matters relating to Natural Gas Act (NGA) rate cases, obtaining NGA Section 7(f) Service Area Determinations, and coordinating participation through the FERC’s NEPA prefiling process. Other experiences include preparing and obtaining a certificate for an NGA Section 7 salt dome storage facility and associated market based rate authorization, and representing a municipality before FERC to obtain approval of a hydroelectric services agreement.

Mindy’s commercial litigation experience includes representing clients in state and federal courts throughout North Carolina as well as in a number of other jurisdictions in contract and employment disputes, trade secrets, commercial real estate, equipment leasing, and collection matters.

Mindy maintains a commitment to pro bono and public service, and is the recipient of numerous awards. She volunteers with the Council for Children’s Rights and partners with Safe Alliance to represent victims of domestic violence.
