Victoria has a broad commercial real estate background including advising on landlord and tenant matters, disposals and acquisitions, lease extensions, property management and assisting clients on general matters of commercial real estate law. Victoria advises on commercial real estate transactions involving a variety of property types including industrial estates, office premises, warehouses and hotels.

Victoria also has experience in the real estate aspects of corporate investments and banking transactions.

Advising a property developer on the grant of a new lease of office premises in London and negotiating the Lease, Licences and dealing with listed building consent.

Advising on numerous site acquisitions for photovoltaic power plant (solar panel) placement. The acquisition involved Secretary of State and local authority consent and dealing with feed-in tariff leases of part.

Acting on a site acquisition of freehold premises for student accommodation in the City of London which included advising the client on the contract, all collateral warranties, s.106 Agreement and dealing with planning permissions and conditions.

Advising a major UK car servicing and repair company on lease renewals and site disposals.

Carrying out an audit on a large property portfolio of UK leased stores for an international retail group corporation which included the review of all leases, planning permission/consents, all warranties, certificates and associated licences.  Liaising with Irish lawyers to oversee the simultaneous audit on the Irish stores.

Acting on the acquisition from LPA Receivers of a large commercial office premises in Newcastle.

Assisting on the acquisition of a £92 million commercial mixed use premises in the City of London on behalf of a Chinese investor.  The acquisition included advising the client on the freehold acquisitions and all occupation lease and transitional service agreements.  The deal required working closely with the employment, tax and banking teams.

McGuireWoods’ corporate, debt finance and real estate groups in London recently represented a Canada-based leading owner, operator and investor in the senior living space in its second UK joint venture with Welltower Inc., a U.S. listed Healthcare Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT). The Real Estate team advised on the freehold asset acquisition.
