Vladimir A. Manastireanu Senior Advisor, International Government Relations McGuireWoods Consulting LLC

Vladimir Manastireanu joined McGuireWoods Consulting Romania in February 2018 as senior advisor. Vlad has an extensive background both in the public administration and private sector, holding several management positions within leading Romanian food and agribusiness companies in the past 3 years.

Prior to joining McGuireWoods Consulting, he was the President of the National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority. In this capacity he had an instrumental role in signing the protocol for frozen pork export between Romania and the People's Republic of China, along with initializing the process of bilateral certification with other countries such as Canada, Japan and Mexico.

Furthermore, Vlad’s tenure in the public administration included numerous positions with the government, such as State Secretary in the Office of the Deputy-Prime Minister, Deputy Secretary General of the Romanian Government and Deputy Governor of Tulcea County. He also served a 4-year mandate in the Parliament of Romania as a Member of the House.

With a PhD in veterinary medical sciences, Vlad has extensive knowledge of sanitary veterinary topics and hygiene of animal origin food.
