JC focuses on complex civil litigation, with an emphasis on securities matters. He has represented clients before governmental agencies, including the SEC, FDIC, CFTC, OTS, DOL, and others. He recently ventured into a criminal prosecution of a manipulation claim against commodities traders, and secured a dismissal of the indictment, the appeal from which is pending in the 5th Circuit. His clients, among others, have included Harvard College, Dynegy, former officers of Enron, a Special Litigation Committee of the Board of Directors of Stewart & Stevenson, a large primary securities broker-dealer, the City of Houston and the Harris County Sports Authority, various BP officers, and a large group of investors in a nationwide action arising out of the collapse of Trade Partners, Inc. He has an intimate knowledge of mortgage-backed securities and financial markets.

JC served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Robert M. Hill, U.S. District Judge for the Northern District of Texas. At Harvard College, he completed the Henry Russell Shaw Fellowship and received the Paul Revere Frothingham Prize.
