Ashley is a litigator who helps businesses and their owners navigate all aspects of commercial litigation and dispute resolution.  She has experience asserting and defending against claims for fraud, business conspiracy, breach of fiduciary duty, tortious interference, and breach of contract, both at trial and on appeal.  She also regularly defends clients in single-plaintiff and class action disputes alleging violations of state and federal consumer protection laws.  Ashley maintains an active pro bono practice and serves on the firm’s pro bono committee.

Before joining McGuireWoods, Ashley clerked for Chief Judge Edward E. Carnes of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and for then-Chief Judge Glen E. Conrad of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia.

Ashley graduated summa cum laude from the University of Richmond School of Law, where she was a John Marshall Scholar and served as an Articles & Comments Editor for the University of Richmond Law Review.  At graduation, Ashley was awarded the Charles T. Norman Award, which the Law School presents to the best all-around graduating student as selected by the faculty and administration.  

Before attending law school, Ashley spent six years teaching high school English in Hanover County, Virginia.

Represented food distributor in complex breach of contract dispute based on the design, construction, and installation of a warehouse material-handling system.   

Defended former executive in $600 million tort and fiduciary litigation and related appeals stemming from the bankruptcy of a diagnostic laboratory.

Defended multiple national financial institutions against alleged violations of consumer protection statutes in state and federal courts across the country. 

As counsel appointed by the Fourth Circuit, represented former railroad employee, which resulted in favorable settlement in which our client received entire amount in controversy after briefing and argument.  G. v. Railroad Retirement Board, 15-2500 (4th Cir. 2017).
