Joey practices corporate law with a concentration on complex business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and private equity and venture capital investments. He assists private equity clients and their portfolio companies through all phases of their investment process, including leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, growth equity investments and fund formation.  His practice also includes advising on general corporate matters for public and private companies, including formation and financing activities.

While earning his law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law, Joey was one of eight members in his graduating class selected for induction into the prestigious Davis Society.  Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Joey practiced at a large law firm in Boston.
