Stanley focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation. His experience includes representing domestic and international corporate clients in connection with civil litigation matters involving a broad range of substantive law, including antitrust, bankruptcy, healthcare administration, intellectual property, mineral rights, securities, and various business tort claims.  He also has considerable experience handling regulatory inquiries and conducting internal investigations.  As a trained generalist, Stanley has experience in all aspects of civil litigation, ranging from preliminary risk assessment through discovery to trial.

In addition to his work at McGuireWoods, Stanley serves on the board of the College Hills Civic Association.  He is an active volunteer with the Parents Association of Sabot at Stony Point, his sons’ preschool, having previously served as Chair of Campus Clean-up efforts and Vice President.  Stanley is also a founding member of the Richmond Battery Gaelic Athletic Association, for which he currently serves as club Rúnaí.

Prior to joining McGuireWoods in 2012, Stanley clerked for the Honorable Joseph M. McLaughlin of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit from 2005 to 2007.  Following his clerkship, he was a litigation associate at Sullivan & Cromwell in New York.
