Sarah focuses on labor and employment law, encompassing transactional, advisory and contentious issues.
She advises and represents clients on the full spectrum of workplace issues, from hiring to termination. Over the course of her practice, Sarah has drafted contracts and policies, assisted with performance management and sickness absence issues, and handled disciplinary, grievance and termination issues. She also counsels clients on employment issues relating to cross-border corporate transactions, company restructuring, global mobility, and data protection and privacy. She holds the CIPP/E certification as a Certified Information Privacy Professional from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
Before joining McGuireWoods, Sarah was trainee solicitor and then employment associate for an international law firm’s London office.
Assisted as part of a team of lawyers on the global spin-off of a health care division for an American NYSE personal care corporation. Her involvement included providing TUPE advice, undertaking due diligence, advising on the enforceability of restrictive covenants and confidentiality clauses and drafting settlement agreements.
Advising a US client on the purchase of an IT outsourcing business with a UK division, including counseling on TUPE issues, consultation obligations, collective redundancies and contract harmonisation.
Counseling a NASDAQ quoted life science and high technology company on the acquisition of a preclinical discovery and development research AIM listed company, including conducting due diligence, drafting and negotiating warranties and indemnities and preparing revised contracts of employment.
