Laura counsels companies regulated by the Food and Drug Administration, U.S. Department of Agriculture, and Tax and Trade Bureau on regulatory compliance and litigation avoidance.

She works with manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors in all stages of product lifecycle management, from determining the regulatory status of a potential ingredient to exploring opportunities to extend product longevity by developing new claims or selling into new markets.  Laura’s experience, ranging from advising startups to Fortune 100 companies, gives her deep insight into her clients’ needs, priorities, and goals.

Laura prepares clients for regulatory inspections; assists clients in implementing recalls; advocates for clients facing adverse regulatory determinations, including FDA Notices of Action and Detention, USDA Notices of Violation, 483 Inspection Observations, and Warning Letters; and defends clients against advertising challenges brought by class action plaintiffs, competitors, and the Federal Trade Commission.

She also advises clients on global trade compliance requirements, including tariff classification, country of origin determinations, warehousing and foreign trade zone compliance, free trade agreement certification, quota compliance, export controls, and economic sanctions.
