Virginia Senate Passes “Amazon” Law

Senate Bill 660, introduced by Sen. Emmett W. Hanger Jr. (Augusta County), was passed by the Virginia Senate today by a vote of 28-12, and will now move to the House of Delegates for consideration. Senate Bill 660 would create a new nexus standard to require certain Internet retailers to collect Virginia sales tax from its Virginia customers even if the retailer is not physically located in Virginia.
