On December 2, 2008, Brian Riopelle, Partner, McGuireWoods LLP and Sarah Harris, Chief Counsel-Intellectual Property, AOL, hosted a webinar discussion on patent law relevant to the life sciences industry.
Patent law, and more significantly, patent litigation, has undergone some significant changes in the past few years. This webinar reviewed several of the noteworthy cases, and discussed how they affect a company’s reaction to patent litigation as well as a company’s decision to enforce its patents. The speakers discussed the changes affecting permanent injunctions, willful infringement, invalidity, and the ability to transfer cases to more favorable venues.
