Lawyers from McGuireWoods London LLP’s International Fraud/Anticorruption practice recently participated in series of seminars discussing the UK Bribery Act 2010, which is expected to come into force in April 2011. The act will have far reaching practical implications for organisations doing business in the UK, both in the public and private sectors. Modelled on the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), the UK Act is broader in scope and creates an indirect obligation on organisations to implement and enforce adequate compliance procedures.
