During this event, the Association of Corporate Counsel North Florida Chapter will also hold a brief annual meeting. The chapter will elect 2016 officers and directors and will cover other general chapter business.

The North Florida ACC and McGuireWoods LLP invite you and your colleagues to attend the annual two-hour interactive ethics program presented by McGuireWoods partner Tom Spahn.

Topics

Tom will be sure to focus on issues that face in-house counsel, either dealing themselves with their confidentiality duty or in dealing with outside counsel relying on some exception in disclosing corporate clients’ confidences.

  • Disclosure of protected client information in the context of joint representations and common interest agreements
  • Whether a lawyer may disclose client confidences to comply with laws or court orders
  • Lawyers’ disclosure of protected client information in clearing conflicts of interest on a daily basis and when hiring laterals
  • Whether lawyers can disclose client confidences to defend themselves from clients’ and even non-clients’ claims or criticism
