McGuireWoods invites you to attend Tom Spahn’s annual ethics program. In the first hour, Spahn will use hypotheticals to explore lawyers’ confidentiality and disclosure duties in the context of non-clients’ misconduct.

Non-Clients’ Misconduct

  • Determining which state’s ethics rules apply
  • Duty to disclose non-clients’ felonies or child abuse
  • “Reporting up” corporate employee misconduct
  • Duty to report other lawyers’ misconduct

In the second hour, Spahn will explore numerous professionalism issues facing lawyers advocating for civil rights and diversity.
