Partner Jay McElligott spoke at the American Conference Institute’s national “ERISA Boot Camp” program on “Collective Bargaining, Pensions and Retiree Medical Benefits” in Philadelphia on Jan. 25, 2011. McElligott discussed the special challenges of negotiating pension and welfare benefits, multi-employer plan and withdrawal liability issues, and using VEBAs as one approach to fund medical benefits and limit employer liability.
