Representation of a Fortune 500 gas and electric utility in a employment discrimination case brought by former service technician who alleged discrimination based upon race and retaliation in connection with 30-day suspension and his subsequent termination. We successfully limited the plaintiff’s claim to his 30-day suspension and eliminated any claim for retaliation prior to trial, severely reducing his damages claim by approximately 90 percent. This led to a favorable settlement for the client.
