Conducted audit of all retirement programs maintained by a large public company, including all documentation and communications. The scope included assessing whether the administration of the various programs was consistent with the plan documents and how to minimize the fiduciary exposure of the company and its employees. This project also encompassed a review and substantial revision of agreements between the employer and its benefit service providers. A number of items of noncompliance, plan inconsistencies and administrative issues were uncovered, resulting in extensive design changes and corrective operational actions, and in remedial initiatives through Internal Revenue Service correction programs.
