Law360 Features Ron Franklin as “Trial Ace”

September 2, 2015

Business and securities litigator Ron Franklin is profiled by Law360 as part of its inaugural “Trial Aces” series, an honor reserved for high-stakes trial attorneys with a win rate of more than 80 percent, and who have set a precedent in the courtroom with their creativity and persuasiveness in front of a jury.

The September 2 profile, titled “Trial Ace: McGuireWoods’ Ron Franklin,” offers an insider look at Franklin’s style in court, and the respect he elicits from colleagues. McGuireWoods product and consumer litigation chair Sam Tarry recalls a particular case during which Franklin demonstrated his prowess in the courtroom during a groundbreaking CSX case.

“He took care of, in 90 seconds of cross-examination of the defendant, what might have taken a half-day of testimony for us to try to prove,” says Tarry in quoted material.

Along with his litigation work, Franklin also has represented clients in libel suits, and previously defended Devon Energy Production Co. LP in a complex case that included testimony from a former secretary of the U.S. Department of the Interior.
