As part of its new “Paying It Forward” series profiling successful diverse lawyers, the Minority Corporate Counsel Association published a question-and-answer column with McGuireWoods chairman Jon Harmon in the spring 2018 edition of Diversity & The Bar magazine. In the interview, Harmon reflected on his career and discussed approaches to leadership and business development, as well as strategies to improve diversity within the legal profession.
When asked about his main focus for fostering diversity and inclusion at McGuireWoods, Harmon noted: “The firm leveraged in-house talent to create a diversity dashboard to inform and advance this effort, so we know where our biggest challenges and opportunities are. I plan to keep firm leadership focused on achieving greater diversity in leadership positions and within practices, to take advantage of strategic resources and programs … and to partner with our clients to develop new and more effective approaches.”
