July 3, 2018

McGuireWoods lawyers from the firm’s Baltimore office partnered with Exelon and the Baltimore City Bar Association’s Senior Legal Services program for a pro bono estate-planning clinic for low-income seniors June 13 at Westminster Hall.

Volunteers from McGuireWoods, Exelon and subsidiaries Constellation and BGE worked together to prepare free wills, advanced medical directives and financial powers of attorney for 28 seniors. McGuireWoods participants included Baltimore office managing partner Cecil Martin III; counsel Ilene Bailey and Clint Randolph; associates Kelly Balkin, Sheena Dasani, Jim Houghton and Emily Patterson; and attorney PJ Duhig.

Baltimore CBS affiliate WJZ aired a news segment on the clinic and The Maryland Daily Record published a story and photo package on its website June 26.

Since 2013, Exelon, McGuireWoods and Senior Legal Services have offered 18 legal clinics, serving more than 300 clients and completing more than 600 legal documents for low-income residents in the Baltimore area.
