McGuireWoods partner Mary Hackett commented in an Aug. 7 American Banker article about the firm’s participation in JPMorgan Chase’s Leading With Diversity initiative to achieve “50 percent women and ethnically diverse lawyers on its external legal teams by the end of 2019.”
In the article, Hackett — a Pittsburgh financial services litigation partner — noted the importance of positioning women and diverse lawyers to lead significant work and develop strong client relationships.
“It’s not staffing diversely, it’s leading diversely. That’s a huge difference,” Hackett said of the bank’s initiative.
