Charlotte senior counsel
Kate Watlington was profiled in the University of Virginia School of Law’s 2018-2019 annual
report. In 2008, she was the inaugural recipient of the Law Alumnae
Scholarship, which was created and funded by women graduates. The article
focused on the continued growth and importance of women in the legal
profession, the importance of giving back to the law school and
Watlington’s project finance practice at McGuireWoods.
Watlington practiced in Hong Kong and Singapore for six years before
joining McGuireWoods’ debt finance practice in Charlotte, where she focuses
on energy sector project development and finance.
“McGuireWoods has a tremendous energy practice with a focus on renewables,
which was a perfect fit for both my background and career goals, as I had
long been interested in focusing on more renewable work,” she said. “It has
been a great transition and we are loving being back in the U.S. and
particularly in Charlotte.”
