ABA Journal Anchors Brexit Feature With Dan Peyton Interview

April 9, 2019

A story in the ABA Journal about Britain’s pending departure from the European Union and the uncertainty surrounding it leads off with an interview with McGuireWoods London office managing partner Dan Peyton.

“The risks that Brexit throws up are relatively low,” Peyton said in the April 2 story.

By a slim margin, UK voters in 2016 chose to secede from the EU, beginning a two-year period for the UK and the EU to agree on a separation plan. The UK government, however, has yet to approve the terms of the divorce.

Despite the uncertainty, Peyton said he struggles to see how Brexit will materially change the practice of law in firms in London or other European cities, at least in the near term.
