Scott Becker Quoted in Chicago Tribune on Late Illinois Medical Group CEO

Chicago healthcare partner Scott Becker, publisher of Becker’s Hospital Review, was quoted in the Chicago Tribune in a May 8 tribute to the late CEO of an independent Chicago-area doctors’ group.

Michael Kasper headed the DuPage Medical Group, a thriving independent physicians group. His May 4 death at the age of 46 saddened and stunned Chicago’s healthcare community and left a successful and growing business without its leader.

“They’re one of the main players here,” Becker told the Tribune for its remembrance of Kasper. The two men had spoken together on a panel discussion in February exploring DuPage’s success, as part of McGuireWoods’ Healthcare and Life Sciences Private Equity and Finance Conference.

Becker recalled Kasper as “unusually gifted and kind,” and likened him to Darrell Stremler, DuPage’s first CEO, who led the group for six years before he also died young — at age 45 — in 2005.
