McGuireWoods is a proud member of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) and a participant in the LCLD Pipeline Committee’s 1L Scholars Program. This program offers an opportunity for diverse 1L law students to work side-by-side with McGuireWoods attorneys and the legal department of a national organization during a 10-week paid internship in the summer of 2021. The 1L LCLD Scholars will split their time between the below McGuireWoods offices and the legal department of the partner organization.

The 1L LCLD Scholars Program has provided valuable professional experiences and network-building opportunities since its 2011 launch. LCLD comprises more than 300 corporate counsel and law firm managing partners working together to create a more open and diverse legal profession. McGuireWoods has been a member and participant in LCLD since the organization was founded in 2009.
