The LA Daily Journal,Law360 and Reuters published stories about partner Kevin Frankel joining McGuireWoods’ financial services litigation practice in San Francisco.

Before joining the firm, Frankel led high-profile investigations and prosecutions as an assistant attorney general for the state of New York. Guiding large teams of lawyers, investigators, auditors and analysts, he investigated and prosecuted white collar crimes allegedly committed by public servants and high-profile elected officials.

Frankel was first-chair trial counsel for public corruption jury trials, including a two-month straw donation trial, a six-week bribery trial and a four-week grand larceny trial. He received the 2021 Louis J. Lefkowitz Award, the highest commendation bestowed by New York’s attorney general for superior service.

He told Law360 that he was happy to be back on the West Coast and that “it’s great to have the resources again of a titan of a firm like McGuireWoods.”

Frankel told The Daily Journal that his prior experience in private practice revolved around defending government enforcement actions and conducting internal investigations. At McGuireWoods, he will represent large banks, hedge and private equity funds, brokers, and Fortune 500 companies.

Bloomberg Law also carried news of Frankel’s move to McGuireWoods in its Jan. 10, 2022, Wake Up Call column.
