One of only 50 Law Firms in the United States to be Selected
McGuireWoods LLP was named a 2009 “Best Law Firm for Women” by Working
Mother magazine and Flex-Time Lawyers LLC. Honoring the 50 winning law firms
for their commitment to the retention and advancement of female talent, the list
is published in the August/September issue of Working Mother, a popular magazine
for career mothers.
“This is an honor that reflects the dedication of our women lawyers to help
our firm undertake the initiatives that have led us to be recognized as one of

To apply for “Best Law Firms for Women,” McGuireWoods provided detailed
information on issues that are most important to the retention and promotion of
women lawyers. The 50 winning firms were selected based on their workforce
profile, family friendly benefits and policies, flexibility, leadership,
compensation, advancement and retention of women, among other criteria.

including one of the most flexible parental leave policies, where associates are
able to take up to one year off, and return at their same level and pay. The
