McGuireWoods Achieves High Marks in Client Service Survey

December 3, 2012

McGuireWoods LLP was ranked fourth in a national survey of corporate counsel about the more than 650 law firms that service large clients. The study examined more than a dozen categories relating to client service. Released by BTI Consulting Group, the report cited McGuireWoods as “earning high praise for the quality of its attorneys and the service they provide.”

As part of the survey, BTI consultants conducted more than 300 in-depth interviews with corporate counsel across a wide variety of industries. Earning a spot in BTI’s “Client Service 30,” McGuireWoods was one of only a few firms to be ranked in each of the 17 categories surveyed. The firm was listed as “Best of the Best” in several categories, including “client focus,” “providing value for the dollar” and “innovative approach.” Client comments about the firm include:

  • “They have high caliber workers, very affordable, very client-centric. They work with us … They deliver quality and good results. They listen and work well with our in-house department.”
  • McGuireWoods “asks questions and they ask what you need before assuming they know the answer.”
  • McGuireWoods’ “electronic records management is superior.”

“There is no greater compliment that one can receive than to be praised by those who you are privileged to serve,” said McGuireWoods Chairman Richard Cullen. “We are fortunate to have wonderful clients and we are grateful for the confidence they have placed in us.”

“Corporate counsel rank McGuireWoods fourth in client service for its innovative approaches to working with clients, translating directly into client focus and value,” said Michael Rynowecer, president of BTI Consulting. “Corporate counsel believe the McGuireWoods approach leads to a better understanding of their objectives and goals.”

“Corporate counsel are now demanding value along with cost control,” he added. “The challenge is to deliver more with less.”

Today’s results come on the heels of another survey, BTI Litigation Outlook 2013: Changes, Trends and Opportunities for Law Firms, which listed McGuireWoods’ litigation practices in several categories, including recognition as a “Litigation Powerhouse: Class Action and Tort.” McGuireWoods was also awarded several Tier 1 rankings in the recently-released U.S. News – Best Lawyers survey of “Best Law Firms.”
