McGuireWoods partners Cheryl O’Donnell Guth and Jennifer Stearman have been named to The Daily Record’s 2012 list of Maryland’s Top 100 Women, an annual list created to recognize outstanding achievement by women as demonstrated through professional accomplishments, community leadership and mentoring.

This year, The Daily Record received 450 nominations solicited from economic development agencies, women’s organizations, chambers of commerce and the business community at large.

Guth focuses on municipal finance, commercial real estate financing and employee benefits. She serves as counsel to governmental issuers in connection with traditional financings, such as general obligation bonds, bond anticipation notes, revenue bonds for governmentally owned facilities, refunding bonds, equipment leasing, and participation in state and federal grant and loan programs.

Stearman practices in the area of corporate finance with a focus in the energy and healthcare industries. She represents borrowers, including healthcare systems and hospitals, underwriters, credit providers, corporate trustees and other agents in a diverse range of tax-exempt and taxable finance transactions. She was previously named to the list in 2007.
