McGuireWoods’ Dallas Office Grows to 16 lawyers, Moves to New Home

June 30, 2014

The fast-growing new office of McGuireWoods LLP now has a permanent home in Dallas.

After opening in Dallas in late March with six partners, the firm’s third Texas office has since expanded to 16 lawyers and, as of Monday, is operating from its permanent location at 2000 McKinney Avenue.

Since the office opened in Dallas three months ago, the firm has added 10 associates, enhancing McGuireWoods’ private equity and intellectual property practices and solidifying its strategic position in the vital southwestern United States market.

Eight of the new Dallas associates work with McGuireWoods’ private equity team, joining office managing partner Akash Sethi and partners J. Kevin BoardmanJon Finger and David McLean, making a core client service even stronger in the Dallas office.

Two associates have joined partners Darren Collins and Robert C. Hilton on the intellectual property team.

A support staff of six serves the lawyers in Dallas.

McGuireWoods will continue to grow its Dallas office to serve a full range of client needs. It joins the firm’s Texas offices in Houston and Austin.

“We have moved quickly to establish our Dallas office and assemble a talented team,” Sethi said. “We are still aggressively looking to expand in corporate finance, commercial litigation and other practices.”
