David Hornyak, Noted Corporate M&A Attorney, Named Managing Partner of McGuireWoods’ Pittsburgh Office

David Hornyak, a noted corporate M&A partner with McGuireWoods, has been appointed the firm’s managing partner in charge of its Pittsburgh office. Hornyak assumed his new duties on Dec. 3.

McGuireWoods Managing Partner Tom Cabaniss, in announcing the leadership transition, noted that the firm is fortunate to have a wealth of talented and committed lawyers prepared to assume leadership roles in key areas.

“Our ongoing success is attributable, in no small part, to outstanding lawyers such as David, and many others, who have been willing to step in and build on the accomplishments of their predecessors,” he said. “We look forward to David’s leadership and know that he will do an outstanding job.”

Hornyak, a partner in the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions and Cross-Border Transactions Department, focuses his practice on corporate, transactional and securities matters. He has represented private and public companies and private equity sponsors in a wide range of business transactions including mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, bank financings, corporate governance and business planning and structuring. His experience spans many industry sectors, including specialty metals and steel, electronics, aerospace, aviation, personal healthcare and consumer products, chemical, oil and gas, solar, plastics and equipment manufacturers and lessors.

He earned his J.D. at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he served as lead executive editor of the Journal of Law and Commerce. He received his bachelor’s degree in environmental science from Allegheny College.
