McGuireWoods Partner Gregory Evans Elected To MALDEF Property Management Corp. Board

May 25, 2017

McGuireWoods’ Gregory Evans — a nationally prominent litigator and managing partner of the firm’s downtown Los Angeles office — has been elected to the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund Property Management Corporation (MPMC) board of directors.

“I am honored to serve on the MPMC board and to assist MALDEF, one of the nation’s pre-eminent civil rights organizations,” Evans said after the nonprofit’s board of directors elected him to the position earlier this month.

Founded in 1968, MALDEF is the nation’s leading Latino legal civil rights group. It promotes social change through advocacy, communications, community education, and litigation in the areas of education, employment, immigrant rights and political access.

MPMC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that manages MALDEF’s properties, including its downtown Los Angeles building — the national headquarters and regional offices for MALDEF and other organizations that assist minority and underserved communities.

Evans also serves on the board of directors for the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, the Constitutional Rights Foundation, the YMCA of San Francisco and the University of Notre Dame Institute for Latino Studies, as well as on the board of trustees for Catholic Charities of Los Angeles.
