McGuireWoods Partners Carter, Kitchin and Rogers Among North Carolina’s Legal Elite

January 25, 2018

McGuireWoods partners Jean Gordon Carter, Henry L. Kitchin Jr. and Marvin L. Rogers have been selected by lawyers across the state for inclusion on Business North Carolina magazine’s 2018 Legal Elite list.

Carter, based in Raleigh, was recognized for tax and estate planning. She co-chairs the firm’s nationally recognized private wealth services group and focuses her practice on estate planning and administration, tax-exempt organizations and charitable giving. The National Law Journal honored her as a Trusts and Estates Trailblazer in 2017.

Kitchin, a Wilmington partner, was selected for antitrust law. Kitchin focuses on business, commercial and real estate litigation, as well as regulatory matters. He represents plaintiffs and defendants in business litigation and disputes, and in antitrust, land use permitting, eminent domain, construction and breach of contract cases.

Rogers, a debt finance partner in Charlotte, was chosen for business law. His practice includes energy, infrastructure and project finance, banking and corporate finance, private equity and real estate. Besides earning the praise of his peers in the Legal Elite balloting, he was recognized in BTI Consulting Group’s 2017 Client Service All-Stars report based on unprompted feedback from corporate counsel.

Since 2002, Business North Carolina has published a list of the state’s top lawyers in business-related categories. Members of the North Carolina State Bar select the Legal Elite lawyers.
