BTI Report Ranks McGuireWoods Among Nation’s Most Innovative Law Firms

September 17, 2018

Corporate counsel rate McGuireWoods among the nation’s most innovative law firms, according to BTI Consulting Group’s newly released “Legal Innovation and Technology Outlook.” The recognition is based on BTI’s in-depth interviews with 359 top legal decision makers at U.S. companies with $1 billion or more in revenue.

Only 52 firms — including McGuireWoods — were selected as “true trailblazers in today’s legal market” for strength in these core components of innovation: making moves other firms don’t; adopting technology or processes others don’t; far surpassing other firms in great client experiences; and using technology to improve efficiency and meet specific client needs.

McGuireWoods ranked particularly high for innovations that produce outstanding client experiences, a consistent refrain about the firm for years in BTI’s client service analyses. McGuireWoods is one of only 11 firms to make BTI’s coveted “Client Service 30” list at least 10 times and it was rated among the top five firms with the strongest client relationships in BTI’s Industry Power Rankings for each of the past two years.

The firm also is among the top three recognized in Financial Times’ prestigious North America Innovative Lawyers report and Mergers & Acquisitions magazine named McGuireWoods “Law Firm of the Year” in its Mid-Market M&A Awards for deal work and innovations that distinguish the firm as an industry leader.

“Innovation thrives at our firm because it is a direct outgrowth of our key strengths: knowing clients’ needs and putting them first, and a diverse, cross-practice team approach that brings complementary skills together to deliver excellent client service,” said J. Tracy Walker IV, managing partner of McGuireWoods.
