McGuireWoods’ Simon Davidson Departs to Dominion Energy

January 28, 2022

C. Simon Davidson, counsel in McGuireWoods’ Government Investigations & White Collar Litigation Department in Charlottesville, will join Dominion Energy as senior counsel on Feb. 1, 2022. In his new position, he will advise on compliance, privacy and sustainability issues. His last day at the firm is Jan. 31, 2022.

Since joining McGuireWoods in 2003, Davidson has represented individuals and organizations facing high-stakes investigations by federal and state agencies. He has handled complex commercial litigation, including class actions, multidistrict litigation, fraud cases and contract disputes. He frequently speaks on attorney-client privilege and ethics topics and was the longtime author of the Roll Call newspaper column “A Question of Ethics.”

“In my two decades at McGuireWoods, I have learned from many great lawyers and I value their support and insight,” Davidson said. “I won’t be going far, so I look forward to staying in touch with my McGuireWoods friends. And, I can’t wait to get started at Dominion.”

“We will miss Simon’s skill and dedication to the firm and to our clients,” said Washington, D.C., partner Todd Steggerda, chair of McGuireWoods’ Government Investigations & White Collar Litigation Department. “We wish him all the best in his new role with Dominion Energy.”
