July 15, 2022

The Institute for Energy Law has selected McGuireWoods Richmond associate Drew Gann for its 2022-2023 Leadership Class. IEL’s Leadership Class is designed for professionals who have been practicing in the energy field between three and 12 years, enabling them to increase their knowledge and develop leadership skills.

The program includes an in-person retreat, online education and social events, and associate membership in IEL through 2023. Class members also are invited to attend the National Young Energy Professionals’ Law Conference in October 2022 and the Energy Law Conference in February 2023.

Gann is a member of McGuireWoods’ Products, Environmental & Mass Tort Litigation Department and the firm’s multidisciplinary energy team. He represents large energy companies in class actions and multidistrict litigation, mass torts, high-stakes commercial litigation and litigation arising out of catastrophic incidents.

“Drew will make a great member of the IEL’s next Leadership Class,” said partner Brian Kelly, who leads McGuireWoods’ energy industry team. “He’s an outstanding litigator in a complex area and an emerging leader in this field.”

“I can’t wait to join this prestigious program,” said Gann. “I’m looking forward to learning from and making connections with energy industry leaders and my fellow class members.”

McGuireWoods’ multidisciplinary energy team works across sectors, from oil and gas to natural gas and renewable fuels to coal and emerging technologies. The firm earned rankings in several energy-related categories in the 2022 edition of The Legal 500 United States.
