Andy’s practice focuses on transactional, regulatory, and operational matters for clients. He has significant experience advising clients in the healthcare sector. Andy advises clients on business transactions, the Anti-Kickback Statute, the Stark Law, HIPAA matters, contract drafting, and due diligence.
Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Andy served as Associate University Counsel at UNC Chapel Hill, advising the University’s schools of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy on a wide range of transactional, regulatory, and operational matters. He also served as the Associate Dean for Strategy & Compliance at UNC’s Adams School of Dentistry on an interim basis.
As a former in-house lawyer, Andy appreciates the complexities of navigating large institutional organizations with many stakeholders. He has experience advising clients on developing & implementing strategic projects, as well as improving operational effectiveness through careful policy development and administration.
