Kevin G. Bender Associate

Kevin's practice focuses on the representation of high net worth individuals, closely held businesses, and financial institutions with respect to a variety of tax, estate planning, trust and estate administration, and general business matters.

Before becoming an attorney, Kevin worked for six years as a senior accountant and financial analyst for a large private insurance and retirement services corporation, managing the accounting and financial reporting for a $500 million business unit and performing purchase accounting for acquisitions collectively valued at over three billion dollars.  From this experience, Kevin brings a wealth of knowledge regarding accounting, corporate finance, insurance, financial planning and analysis, and general business strategy to the practice of law.    

During law school, Kevin assisted McGuireWoods attorneys in providing pro bono services to low-income taxpayers through William & Mary’s Federal Tax Clinic and the Community Tax Law Project.  He also served as a summer legal intern for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission through the Student Honors Program and as a legal extern for the Hon. Justice LeRoy F. Millette, Jr., of the Supreme Court of Virginia.    


Represented numerous high net worth individuals in complex estate planning matters and complex financial transactions.

Provided financial, tax, and general business advice and planning to owners of closely held businesses.

Represented large financial institutions in fiduciary litigation relating to the administration of trusts and estates.
