Lishel M. Bautista Attorney

Lishel’s practice focuses on financial services litigation. Lishel represents banks, lenders, mortgage and loan services, and other financial institutions, in federal and state court litigation, involving secured and unsecured debts.

Prior to joining the firm, Lishel represented both secured and unsecured creditors in commercial and consumer transactions and litigation. Lishel also served as a substitute trustee and handled foreclosures (judicial and non-judicial) and evictions. With this experience, Lishel has unique insight that aids in the zealous advocacy of her clients’ interests.

For over 15 years, Lishel has enjoyed a successful law practice as a trial attorney representing clients in the prosecution and defense of claims involving the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Deceptive Trade Practices Act (DTPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), wrongful foreclosure, title actions, breach of contract, fraudulent transfer, and various tort-related claims. 

Lishel also has experience representing clients in both jury and bench trials as well as in arbitration.

Experience

Representation of a commercial landowner in a jury trial in an eminent domain suit where Lishel’s client recovered an award that was 75-percent greater than what the commissioners awarded prior to trial.

Representation of mortgage lenders and servicers in suits for improper debt collection, wrongful foreclosure, and breach of contract.

Served as Substitute Trustee to effect foreclosure sales on behalf of Lishel’s property owners’ association clients.
