Brian's practice focuses on financial services litigation before the federal and state courts of Virginia, South Carolina, and North Carolina.
His litigation and trial practice includes representing and advising lending institutions and loan servicers on issues involving liability claims arising under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Truth in Lending Act, and various state consumer protection laws. Additionally, Brian has extensive experience litigating commercial foreclosures on behalf of secured creditors.
Brian previously served as a law clerk to Judge John E. Waites of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of South Carolina. Today, he utilizes that experience to help clients preserve and enforce their creditor-rights in bankruptcy cases and proceedings.
Advised a boutique consumer loan lender on compliance issues arising out of the requirements of the South Carolina Consumer Protection Code.
Represented national banks and mortgage loan servicers in adversary proceedings before the bankruptcy courts in the District of South Carolina, Middle District of North Carolina, and Eastern District of Virginia.
Managed a portfolio of commercial foreclosures in South Carolina for an international commercial/construction loan servicer.
