Amy E. Dehnel Associate

Amy represents a wide variety of prominent public and private companies in connection with insurance coverage and related complex commercial disputes. She has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars in insurance proceeds on behalf of her policyholder clients through both litigation and pre-litigation resolution.

Amy also regularly assists clients in negotiating best-in-class terms and conditions with insurers. She has also advised numerous companies on indemnification and risk management needs arising out of policy renewals and M&A transactions, as well as incident response and crisis management issues.

Amy is a frequent author and speaker on topics relating to insurance, indemnification, cyber risks, crisis management, and other commercial litigation issues.

In addition to her insurance coverage practice, Amy also has substantial experience representing leading medical device and pharmaceutical manufacturers in complex and high-stakes products liability claims.


Represented a German multinational chemical company in connection with the recovery of property damage and business interruption insurance from European insurers and in the defense of complex subrogation claims arising out of 2017 explosion at polysilicon plant in Tennessee.

Represented a global food product corporation in complex litigation with Canadian supplier over distribution rights under long-term supply contract.

Represented an energy company in the Philippines in pursuit of insurance coverage for business interruption losses arising out of equipment failure.

Represented a major credit reporting agency in pursuit of insurance recoveries for losses arising out of the 2017 data breach.

Represented a Fortune 500 financial institution in insurance recovery litigation seeking over $500 million in coverage under banker's professional liability policies for hundreds of claims arising before and after the financial crisis.

Represented a major manufacturing company in pursuit of insurance recoveries from London-based insurers for losses arising out of a nationwide product recall.

Assisted dozens of clients in confidential matters in the pursuit of insurance recovery for first- and third-party losses, including under cyber, CGL, E&O, D&O, crime, product recall, property, and international policies, as well as other manuscripted coverage.
