Jason regularly represents a variety of dialysis and nephrology providers, vascular access centers and catheterization laboratories, academic medical centers, physician group practices, post-acute care facilities, laboratory companies, healthcare information technology companies and other healthcare providers in structuring mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, accountable care and capitated care arrangements, syndications, divestitures and private placements implicating various regulatory compliance issues commonly associated with such transactions.

Jason regularly provides guidance on physician self-referral prohibitions and anti-kickback issues, the corporate practice of medicine, post-acute regulatory issues, fee splitting, false claims act matters, provider licensing, changes of ownership and control, acquiring certificates of need, physician employment and recruitment, compliance with The Joint Commission and other accreditation standards, hospital and medical staff bylaws and other regulatory compliance issues.

Jason is a regular speaker and author on dialysis, vascular access, nephrology and cardiac cath lab-related topics, and regularly speaks at programs hosted by the Renal Physicians Association (RPA), the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology (ASDIN), the Vascular Access Society of the Americas (VASA) and the Dialysis Vascular Access Coalition (DVAC).

Jason was recognized in 2019 as a Chambers-ranked “Up and Coming” lawyer. He serves on the advisory board of Nephrology News & Issues and on the audit committee of VASA. Jason is a Past-President of the Illinois Association of Healthcare Attorneys and served as a member of its board of directors for many years. Jason has also served as the editor-in-chief of Health Care Law Monthly, a LexisNexis publication. Jason also authors a newsletter entitled, Greis Guide to LTACHs addressing issues of importance to long-term acute care hospitals.
