Zach Johnson joined McGuireWoods Consulting in May 2017 as an assistant vice president of State Government Relations. Prior to joining the firm, Zach served as the lobbyist for the Georgia Department of Administrative Services (DOAS) with a primary focus on government procurement, state contracting and strategic sourcing.
In his role with the state, Zach was responsible for outreach to the Georgia General Assembly, enterprise agencies, local and county governments as well as the University System of Georgia and the Technical College System of Georgia.
He is also certified as a Georgia Certified Procurement Associate (GCPA) and previously served on the Georgia Technology Authority Technology Innovation Committee where he worked as a member of a cross functional team looking at technology innovation across the entire enterprise of state government.
Zach began his career working with former Georgia State Senate Majority Whip Cecil Staton, where he focused on issues related to science, technology, higher education, and transportation. Following his work with Senator Staton, he worked as a lobbyist for the State Bar of Georgia where he created and implemented the Bar’s statewide grassroots program.
