Jennifer Kafcas focuses her practice on general corporate, derivatives and leveraged finance transactions. She has extensive experience advising lenders, hedge counterparties, borrowers and private equity funds on complex cross-border transactions in Europe and the United States, including bond offerings, asset-based financings, projects, derivatives, restructurings, and M&A transactions.

Jennifer has strong commercial acumen and knows what is important to clients. She prides herself in providing strong, practical and efficient legal advice in the pursuit of clients’ commercial objectives.  Having worked on numerous high profile transactions in the European market, she has considerable insight and market intelligence into the leveraged finance and bond market including in particular, complex capital structures and key intercreditor and core documentation issues affecting various creditors in the capital structure.

Advised Goldman Sachs International and other major investment banks in their capacities as hedge counterparties in respect of leveraged finance, bond transactions, projects and real estate financings.

Advised a NASDAQ-listed company on its 144A debt offering and its general corporate, maritime and charterparty documentation.

Advised a major private equity fund with respect to the financing of certain portfolio companies.

Advised a major global aluminum company on the refinancing of its acquisition facilities agreement and certain European subsidiaries in respect of cash management arrangements and operational aspects of its receivables financing arrangements.

Advised a major plc on the financing transactions relating to the acquisition of various leasing businesses.

Advised various companies in respect of its receivables financing agreements under New York law and the cross-border aspects of the financing.

Advised on a scheme of arrangement and restructuring of a major private equity owned company.

Advised certain distressed debt funds in respect of its acquisition of various loan and hedging portfolios.
