Mason L. Mote Partner

Mason is a partner in the real estate and land use practice in McGuireWoods’ Houston and Austin offices. Over the course of his career, he has advised clients across the state of Texas, including in Houston, Austin, Dallas and San Antonio.

Mason focuses his practice on all aspects of commercial real estate transactions. He regularly represents lenders and borrowers in construction, permanent and mezzanine financing for complex commercial real estate projects, including the construction and financing of hotels and resorts. He also helps clients navigate the challenging process of debt restructuring and foreclosures.

Mason routinely represents developers, buyers and sellers in connection with the acquisition, disposition and development of commercial properties and raw land, including multifamily, retail, office and industrial projects.

Mason also advises landlords, tenants and developers in the negotiation of ground leases for the development of land and commercial leases for office, industrial and retail premises.

Mason previously served as general counsel to a Houston-based private real estate investment firm advising on matters related to corporate governance, transactional and finance matters.
